Sheridan WYO Rodeo Expands Scholarship Program​

SHERIDAN, WY (March 3, 2026) – The Sheridan WYO Rodeo has expanded its scholarship program for 2026. In the past, the WYO awarded three, $1,000 scholarships. This year and moving forward, the WYO will award five, $3,000 scholarships annually. Applicants must graduate from a high school in Sheridan County the year they apply and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00.

As an incentive to help with the various activities surrounding the rodeo, all applicants that are part of the SPURS volunteer group will receive extra points toward the total points that determine the scholarship winners. “We have always understood the importance of supporting our youth in our communities and we are excited to be able to expand our scholarship program,” states Sheridan WYO Rodeo board president, Hayden Heaphy. Scholarship winners will be recognized during Sheridan WYO Rodeo week, taking place July 6th-12th, with four rodeo performances July 8th-11th, starting at 7:00pm nightly with the World Championship Indian Relay Races.
