Welcome to The Best Week of the Year

Sheridan WYO Rodeo week is packed full of events for the whole family! Starting Tuesday with the Boot Kick-Off and concluding with the Tailgate Party & Polo on Sunday, there’s something for everyone. Explore our events, get involved, and mark your calendars for July 7-15, 2025. *Schedule will be updated throughout early 2025.

The Sheridan WYO Rodeo Boot Kick Off is the official kick-off party for Rodeo Week! Sponsored by Barney & Graham, LLC our 2025 event is one you don’t want to miss!

The Boot Kick Off features fierce competition amongst children and adults. We begin with stick horse races for kids up to age 8 and top it all off with an edge-of-your-seat good ol’ boot kicking competition for those 9 years and older. How far can you kick a boot down the field? Join us and you’ll find out! Space is limited to 20 competitors in each age group so get there early to make sure you are able to join the fun! Chamber Bucks will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each of the age groups.

This is always a fun-filled evening featuring family friendly activities for all.

Schedule:
4:30 pm – Registration for competitions (up to 20 participants in each category)

5:00 pm – Games Begin!

Stick horse barrel racing for kids (age categories: ages 4 & under, 5-6, 7-8) – stick horses provided!

Boot kick-off competition for ages 9 and over (age categories: 9-12, 13-17, men 18 & up, women 18 & up)

Bring your own boot, or we’ll have some available for you to use. Prizes for top 3 winners in each category!

The parade theme for 2025 will be “Stars, Stripes & Summer Nights”.

*Parade entry forms must be submitted by June 27th.*

Our grand Sheridan WYO Rodeo Parade is the most marvelous hometown parade in America!

The parade route will begin on North Main at Dow Street and head south to Works Street. It will then turn right (West) on Works Street and turn right again on Brooks Street to head north. The parade will end at Brooks and Dow Streets.

Hundreds stake out their favorite viewing spot the night before, just remember to wait until the stores close before setting out your chairs.

Locals and visitors alike know that the fun begins even earlier that the 10AM Main Street Parade! Arrive downtown to enjoy the Pancake Breakfast and the Sneakers & Spurs Fun Run and then finish it all up with our grand WYO Rodeo Parade.

In order to run or walk, you must sign up online! The Sports Stop no longer offers paper registration.

The race is on Main Street. Race registration fee includes a commemorative t-shirt (if registered before July 4), chip time, awards and refreshments!

Registration fee is $30 now through July 6. Registration fee increases to $35 from July 7th onward and t-shirt availability at race is not guaranteed. Questions? Stop by the Sports Stop (208 N. Main St., Sheridan, WY) where you will be able to sign up online starting July 1. 

First People's Pow Wow Sheridan Wyo Rodeo

First Peoples' Pow Wow

The First Peoples’ Pow Wow and Dance is a one-of-a-kind event held on the lawn of the Historic Sheridan Inn, on Friday of WYO Rodeo Week immediately following the Parade. Unique in its pageantry and participation, the Pow Wows feature Native American dancers and drum teams in full regalia, performing traditional ceremonial dances.

Carnival

5 pm - Midnight, Wednesday - Saturday, July 9-12, 2025 at the Fairgrounds

This is a carnival for all ages, located alongside our Sheridan WYO Rodeo event at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds. Featuring the rides you love, new rides, fun games and prizes and the carnival goodies you look forward to every year, we may be biased, but we think this is the state of Wyoming’s best carnival each year.

2024 Carnival pricing:

  • Single ticket: $1.00
  • 10 tickets: $9.00
  • Wristbands: $35.00 each
  • Buddy night wristbands (Wednesday): $50.00 for two or one band for $25.00.

All pricing is set by the carnival and changes annually

COWBOY POLO Sunday TAILGATE PARTY

1-3 pm, Sunday, July 13, 2025 at the Big Horn Equestrian Center

Enjoy the fun of watching our local polo teams compete in a sport carried over from our British heritage, right here in Sheridan County. Sunday, July 16 we invite you to enjoy the Eaton’s Cup at 1:00 pm and the WYO Rodeo Cup at 3:00 pm.
