From the all-volunteer Board of Directors to the rodeo secretary, the event wouldn’t happen without numerous selfless individuals. Explore the people who donate their time to make Sheridan’s biggest event of the year what it is.

THE Pick-UP Men

Who they Are

The pick-up men at the Sheridan WYO Rodeo are the cowboys on horseback working the rough stock events— bull riding, saddle bronc and bareback riding. Pickup-men play an important role in assisting riders and increasing the safety of competitors.

Flag carriers have been an important part of the Sheridan WYO Rodeo for many years. They strive to perform horsemanship at the highest level, while carrying in sponsorship flags on all four nights of the rodeo. They put in many volunteer hours of practice year round to prepare for the rodeo in July. 

Will Rassmussen

The ANNOUNCER

The Voice of the WYO

Will Rassmussen has been the announcer at the WYO for the last several years, voicing the town’s largest event, introducing cowboys and keeping the crowd on its feet. The WYO wouldn’t be the same without Will!

THE Bullfighters

Who they Are

Image result for bullfighters pro rodeo The primary job of the rodeo bullfighter is to protect a fallen rider from the bull by distracting it and providing an alternative target for the bull to attack, whether the rider has been bucked off or has jumped off the animal. These individuals expose themselves to great danger in order to protect the riders.

JJ HArrison

JJ Harrison has been entertaining the Sheridan WYO Rodeo crowd and has become a mainstay of each performance. Starting his career as a rodeo clown in 2005, he’s known for his improve-style comedy and quick wit to keep the crowd engaged, performing at rodeos across the country including the NFR. A family man, JJ loves the WYO, returning every year since his first visit in 2016.
