2023 fees, prizes and details:

$90,000 in Cash & Prizes!

• $750 entry fee per team
• Entries and entry fees are due no later than June 1, 2023
• No late entries
• Cash prizes for traditional tribal costuming
• Buckles and Jackets awarded to race winners

The World Championship Indian Relay Race is an invitational. Teams will be selected and notified no later than June 15, 2023. Teams who are not selected will receive entry fee refunds via their original form of payment.

All Judges decisions are final.

1. Wyoming law requires all horses to have current brand and health papers.
2. Sheridan County Fairground stalls become available for World Championship Indian Relay team check in starting Tues., July 11, 2023 at 7 a.m. unless other arrangements are made in advance.
3. A loose horse on the track disqualifies the team for that heat only.
4. Traditional tribal costumes (moccasins, breechcloths) required for riders.
5. Any rider not properly attired may be assessed a 10 second penalty!!!!
6. 4 people and 3 horses per team. You will be assigned 5 stalls.
7. All horses remain on track during entire race.
8. Intoxicated teams and bad behavior will result in disqualification. This includes unsportsmanlike conduct or animal cruelty, arguing with judges and/or official personnel.
   
9. Races will be timed. Championship race determined by times posted in qualifying heats.
10. Dismounted, standing start. Muggers may assist rider.
11. Sheridan WYO Rodeo reserves the right to refuse any entry.
12. Race officials will draw post positions June 15, 2023 so that races may be posted in the rodeo program.
13. Race officials reserve the right to excuse any team with unruly or unfit horses.
14. Pre-race meeting at 4:00 p.m. Wed., July, 12, 2023. All teams are required to attend.
